Family Fun

John is taking a new job on June 1st and we had a week in between jobs, so we decided we needed a vacation BADLY. I tried my hardest to get off work Sunday night, but no luck, so we gave up on a beach vacation and planned some mini trips close by. We first took the boys to Carribean Cove indoor water park in Indianapolis and to the Children's museum there as well. It was so much fun! Of course the boys hated the car ride, but the moment we arrived to the room, trunks were on and they were ready to go.

There was so much to choose from at the water park, they just ran from one thing to another in pure excitement. It was the first time in forever that I can say a whole tear free hour would occur. No hitting, nothing. I was in heaven. I had to be the one to splash around in the water, John somehow got the lazy river duty, go figure!

After the first visit to the water park, the boys noticed the small putting green and chose it over the water for the hour before closing, works for me! So, I went to relax in the hot tub, while the boys all played golf. Maybe 10 minutes went by before I was joined by 2 small children. It was a nice 10 minutes though!

After a much needed day of rest at home in our beds, we took the kids to Holiday World. That was probably the best trip we have had in a long time! After they got over the initial blow of being too short for the "big" rides (Chase was 1 inch too short) all was well. There was so much for kids to do and they would fixate on one ride and ride over and over and over again. We had to explain that there were lots of cool rides there. I got stuck with anything that went in a circular motion thanks to John's motion sickness from circular rides. My back did not like that idea but that meant he got the much bigger, much scarier rides and he gets all future roller coasters! The boys were not afraid of a single ride, unlike their Mommy!
We are finishing our vacation this evening with dinner and the Disney movie, Up. If times like these could just last forever!
